2.5 Summary and Terminology

This chapter introduces the concept of information system management policy and presents a survey of common policy approaches. Differences and similarities between these approaches are discussed. Comments on specific problems or ambiguities are given.

All policy approaches have in common that they explicitly consider refinement as an important process. The quality of this process differs with the policy approach. In section [*] other processes are described. In the next chapter an overview of metapolicies is given.
